Moreover, you can find the halfway point whether you’re using the Google Maps mobile app or the web version. Additionally, there are some third-party tools with more features and easier access. This guide will walk you through the different methods of finding the midpoint, aka, the perfect meeting spot.

Can You Find Halfway Point Between Two Places on Google Maps

Google Maps is a pretty deft app. You can use the immersive view for easier navigation, save and find your parked car, or even use it as a Trip Planner. However, it doesn’t automatically calculate the midpoint between two different addresses. Although there’s always some workaround that we can use. So, let’s get going.

Note: While easy, these workarounds only give you a rough estimation of the central location between multiple addresses. That’s because it gives you a midpoint as per coordinates and does not consider road routes, traffic, or any such things.

Use Coordinates in Google Maps to Find Midpoint

One of the hacks to calculate the halfway point in Google Maps is to collect the coordinates of the two points. Then, apply some basic maths, i.e., add the latitude and longitude of the two points and divide it by two. The resulting coordinates will give you the midpoint.

Find Midpoint’s Coordinates Using a Mobile App

Step 1: Launch Google Maps and search for the first location.

Step 2: Swipe up the information bar from the bottom or drop a pin at the location. From the information bar, long press and copy the coordinates of the location.

Step 3: Repeat the step 1 and 2 for the second location.

Find Coordinates of both locations

Step 4: Once you have the coordinates for both the locations, simply do the following,

  • Midpoint’s latitude = A’s latitude + B’s latitude divided by 2.
  • Midpoint’s longitude = A’s longitude + B’s longitude divided by 2.

Note: As per given example (23.0036505 + 23.0265553)/ 2 = 23.0151029. (72.6011880 + 72.5615430)/2 = 72.5813655. So, the coordinates of the midpoint are 23.0151029, 72.5813655.

Step 5: Now, copy and paste the new coordinates in Google Maps’s search bar.
