5 Fixes for Roblox Installer Not Working on Windows

Quick Tips
  • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus programs, as they can sometimes block the installation of apps and games on your Windows PC.
  • Running Roblox as an administrator from the AppData folder can also help resume a stalled installation.
  • Consider downloading Roblox from the Microsoft Store if nothing else works.

Fix 1: Try Launching Roblox From the AppData Folder

The Roblox installation process on Windows can sometimes become stuck for various reasons, making it seem like the installer is not working. To fix this, you can try running RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe from the AppData folder. This will force Roblox to resume the installation process and solve your problem.

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

Step 2: Type %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions in the box and press Enter.

Step 3: In the File Explorer window that appears, open the version folder. If you see several entries for the version folder, select the most recent one.

Fix 2: Delete the Roblox AppData Folder

If running RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe proves ineffective, you can consider deleting all the Roblox files and proceeding with a fresh installation. This should help fix issues caused by incomplete installation or missing game files.

To remove Roblox game files from Windows, use these steps:

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type %localappdata% in the Open field and press Enter.

Step 2: Locate and select the Roblox folder and click the trash icon at the top to delete it.

Fix 3: Clear Temporary Files

You may be unable to install Roblox due to corrupt or inaccessible temporary files on your PC. If that’s the case, deleting temporary files from your PC should help. Here’s how you can go about it.

Step 1: Press the Windows key + R to access the Run dialog box. Type %temp% in the text box and press Enter.

Step 2: In the Temp folder, select all the files using the Ctrl + A keyboard shortcut, and then click the trash icon at the top to delete them.

Step 1: Right-click on the RobloxPlayerInstaller.exe file and select Run as administrator from the context menu.

Fix 5: Install Roblox From the Microsoft Store
