2 Ways to Fix a Frozen Kindle Screen

Quick Tips
  • Charge your Kindle reader if it is frozen or not refreshing the display.
  • Force restart your Kindle reader to fix any bugs or glitches. Press and hold the power button (for 30-40 seconds) and select Restart from the pop-up.
  • Connect your Kindle to a PC or Mac, open the Kindle drive, and delete any corrupted books or content.

Basic Fixes

  • Low battery: If your Kindle’s battery is critically low, it might freeze as it may not have enough power to refresh the display.
  • Force restart: If a software bug or a corrupted file is causing the issue, force rebooting your Kindle reader will help. Press and hold the power button (for 30-40 seconds) and select Restart from the pop-up.
  • Update Kindle: Update your Kindle reader to the latest software version for a bug-free experience.

Fix 1: Delete Corrupted Books

If you have transferred books from third-party sources to your Kindle reader and any of them are corrupted, they may cause issues with your Kindle. However, books purchased from the official Kindle store will not cause such issues since they are optimized for the device.

Step 1: Connect your Kindle reader with the USB cable to your PC or Mac. Open the Kindle folder on your PC.

Open Kindle Drive

Step 2: Tap on Documents.
