Instagram offers a handy add-on to share quick updates with followers and friends on the platform. Notes give you a personal space to share a thought in 60 characters. You can even add a music tune to it. However, many have complained about Instagram notes not appearing for their accounts. Here are the best ways to fix Instagram notes not showing.
You can share only one note at a time. Notes disappear on Instagram after 24 hours. If you check your friends’ notes on the platform, they may not show up after a day. Let’s go through the best ways to get Instagram notes for your account.
1. Update Instagram
The Notes function may not appear on an outdated Instagram app on your phone. While the Google Play Store and the App Store auto-update apps in the background, they may not work as expected. It’s time to update Instagram on your phone manually.
Head to the Play Store or the App Store, search for Instagram, and update the app. Launch Instagram and go to the Messages menu from the top-right corner. Check if the notes option appears for your account.
2. Don’t Use VPN
Notes on Instagram may not show up for your account on an active VPN connection. You need to disable VPN network on your iPhone and Android, force-close Instagram, and try again.
3. Authenticate Account Again
Instagram notes not appearing can be due to an account authentication error. You need to sign out from your account and sign back in.
Step 1: Open Instagram and tap your profile icon at the bottom-left corner.
Step 2: Tap the three horizontal lines at the top and open Settings and privacy.
Step 3: Scroll down and log out from your account.
Login with your account details, and notes will appear for your account.
4. Don’t Use Instagram Lite
Instagram offers a Lite version on Android. It’s designed for Android phones with budget hardware and takes up less space on your phone. The Facebook-owned company prioritizes the main app for new features like notes. You need to ditch the Instagram Lite app and go with the full-fledged version on Android.
5. Check the Network Connection
Do you have network connection issues on your iPhone or Android? You may face issues with using the notes feature on your phone. You should connect to a high-speed internet network and try again.
If the network issues persist, enable Airplane mode and disable it. You can swipe down from the top and access the Airplane mode from the quick toggles menu.
iPhone users can swipe down from the top-right corner to check the Airplane mode.
6. Your Account Is Flagged
Did you like too many posts or share dozens of comments on Instagram in a short time? The company may flag your account as a bot and limit certain activities on the platform. You get an ‘Action Blocked’ error and can’t follow someone on Instagram too.
You need to wait for a day or two to get the ban lifted and try using notes again.
7. Clear Instagram Cache
A corrupt Instagram cache can be the main reason behind notes not showing for your account. Let’s clear the app cache and try again.
Step 1: Long-tap on the Instagram app icon and open the app info menu.
