2 Easy Ways to Fix Twitch Not Working on iPhone and Android

Basic Fixes

• Check network connectivity: Ensure there’s no problem with Wi-Fi or cellular data on your smartphone.
• Check if Twitch is down: If Twitch is facing downtime, wait for the services to be restored.
• Restart device: Restart your smartphone to fix temporary bugs and glitches.
• Update Twitch: Update the Twitch app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store for a bug-free experience.
• Disable VPN: If you are trying to use Twitch on a VPN and it does not work as expected, turn it off on your device.

Fix 1: Enable Cellular Data For Twitch

Your iPhone or Android device can turn off mobile data for certain apps. Once you do this, the apps won’t connect to the mobile networks and function normally. Therefore, ensure you haven’t disabled the mobile data access for Twitch.

On iPhone

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

Step 2: Open Cellular/Mobile Data and scroll down to find Twitch. Ensure to turn on the toggle for Twitch, if not already.

On Android

Note: We have used a OnePlus device to show the steps. However, a similar procedure is required for other Android devices too.

Step 1: Tap and hold the Twitch app icon and select info.

Step 2: Tap on Data Usage.

Step 3: Ensure you have turned off the toggle for ‘Disable mobile data’.

Fix 2: Clear Cache

Once you clear cache data, you might be able to fix a buggy Twitch app.

Step 1: Tap and hold the Twitch app icon and tap on the info icon.

Step 2: Tap on Storage usage. Tap on Clear cache.

On iPhone

Offloading an app on your iPhone clears cache data from it. You will need to then re-download the app. This requires an active internet connection.

Step 1: Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage, find and select the Twitch app.

Step 2: Tap on Offload App. Once the app is offloaded, tap on Reinstall app.
