Growing a larger following on LinkedIn can do wonders for your professional growth. It helps you boost visibility, build credibility in your field, and open the door to so many incredible opportunities. Career advancements, partnerships, and even new clients… they can all come your way when more people are following – and engaging with – your content on LinkedIn.
To make the most of this potential, you have two key tasks. One, you should create valuable and engaging content that makes people want to follow you. And two, you should make it as simple as possible to actually follow your LinkedIn account. This guide will help you with the second task. It will teach you how to add a LinkedIn Follow link to your website.
How to Add a LinkedIn Follow Link to Your Website: A Step-by-Step Guide
The Follow link isn’t a default option on LinkedIn. You will only have access to your link if you:
- Have always followed LinkedIn’s Professional Community Policies
- Have a good standing record on the platform
- Aren’t located in mainland China
If you meet these criteria, you can copy your Follow link in a few simple steps. However, the Follow link option isn’t available by default. You’ll have to tweak your “Followers” settings first. Here’s what to do.
Step 1: Click on the “Me” button at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

Step 2: Select the “Settings & Privacy” option from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Go to the “Visibility” tab on the left pane.

Step 4: Navigate to the “Visibility of your LinkedIn activity” section and click on “Followers.”

Step 5: Enable the slider next to the “Make follow primary” option.

Once you do, “Connect” will no longer be the primary action displayed on your profile. However, this action will generate the Follow link we need for the rest of this guide. Here’s how to proceed with how to add a LinkedIn Follow link to your website.
Step 1: Go to the “Me” icon at the top.

Step 2: Select the “View Profile” option from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Click on the “Contact info” button under your name and title. If you’re on mobile, you’ll have to tap the “More” icon to reveal this button.

Step 4: Head to the “Sharing on socials” section and click on the “Follow link” option. If instead of this option you see “Learn more,” this means you don’t meet the criteria discussed earlier.

Step 5: Select the “+Copy Link” or “+Copy Code” button, depending on where you want to share your Follow link. If you’re embedding the Follow button directly into your website, the “+Copy Code” button will help you grab the HTML snippet.

If you’re sharing the link elsewhere – such as in an email or social media – choose the “+Copy Link” option to use the URL.

After successfully copying the Follow link or code, all that’s left to do is paste it to your desired location.
