How to Hide Your Friends List on Facebook
On Desktop
Step 1: Go to Facebook on your Windows or Mac computer and log in with your account credentials.
Step 2: Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
Step 3: From the drop-down menu, choose Settings & privacy.

Step 4: Now, choose Privacy Checkup.

Step 5: On the Privacy Checkup page, click Who can see what you share.

Step 6: In the pop-up modal, click Continue.
Step 7: Scroll down to the bottom until you see ‘Friends and following.’ Now, click the button next to Who can see your friends list on your profile?

Step 8: Choose the option Only me.

That’s about it. Changes will take effect immediately, and you can close the modal and rest assured that your activity will now be private.

On Facebook Mobile App
Step 1: Launch the Facebook app. Then, tap on your profile picture.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom and choose Settings & privacy. From the drop-down, select Privacy shortcuts.

Step 3: Under Privacy Shortcuts, tap Take a Privacy Checkup. Next, select Who can see what you share.

This triggers a Privacy check flow. Proceed with the below steps.
Step 4: You will see the privacy touchpoints you will come across in the flow. Click Continue.
Step 5: Under Profile Information, scroll down to the bottom until you see ‘Friends and following.’ Now, tap the button next to Who can see your friends list on your profile?

Step 6: Select the Only me option.
There you go. After applying the changes, you can tap the back arrow to return to their news feed. Keep reading if you want to hide your friends and your activity.
How to Hide Your Activity on Facebook
On Desktop

Step 10: Repeat the same for Stories. Click on the button next to it.

Step 11: You cannot select Only me when posting a story, as it defies the very purpose of posting the story in the first place. So, select the Custom option and select who you want to share your stories with.

Step 1: Launch the Facebook app. Then, tap on your profile picture on the right-hand side.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom and choose Settings & privacy. From the drop-down, select Privacy shortcuts.

Step 3: Under Privacy Shortcuts, tap Take a Privacy Checkup. Next, select Who can see what you share.
