Fix 1: Allow Snapchat to Access Local Storage (Android)
Apps like Snapchat need permission to access your phone’s storage to save content locally. If you have previously denied Snapchat access to your phone’s local storage, you won’t be able to export snaps to the camera roll. Here’s how you can change that.
Step 1: Long press on the Snapchat app icon and tap the info icon from the menu that pops up. Then, select Permissions.
Step 2: Go to Photos and videos and set it to Allow.
Fix 2: Sign Out and Sign Back In
Snapchat might not be letting you export photos and videos due to an authentication issue with your account. You can try signing out of the app and signing back in to resolve the issue.
Step 1: In Snapchat, tap the profile icon in the top left corner and then tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the page, tap Log Out, and select Log Out again to confirm. Restart the app and sign back in to check if the error is resolved.
Fix 3: Clear Snapchat App Cache
As you use Snapchat on your phone, the app collects cache data to deliver a snazzy experience whenever you use it. The problem occurs when this data gets old and starts interfering with the app. For such instances, Snapchat lets you clear cache data directly from its settings menu. The following steps will work for Android and iPhone.
Step 1: In the Snapchat app, go to your profile and tap the gear icon at the top right corner.
Step 2: Scroll down to Account Actions and tap Clear Cache. Choose Continue when prompted.
