Whenever you play a song, you would love to look at its Album art, right? Sometimes, the Album art stops showing on Spotify and you may not realize it. If you face the same issue often, here are some solutions to fix Spotify Album art not showing on your iPhone.
1. Disable Data Saver in Spotify
If your Spotify app has stopped showing album covers, we first recommend is checking whether the app can use your full internet bandwidth. Spotify app has a dedicated Data Saver option to limit your data usage. We suggest turning off this feature, as it might be why the album art is not showing on Spotify. Here’s how to disable it.
Step 1: Open Spotify on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Tap on Data Saver.
Step 4: Tap the toggle next to Data Saver to disable the feature.
Step 5: Go back and check if the problem is solved.
2. Switch from Mobile Data to Wi-Fi
The above solution applies if you use mobile data on your iPhone. But if you still don’t see the album art on Spotify, we suggest switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi. This will improve the internet speeds, which might not be good enough via mobile data at your current location. If you are outdoors, connect to a public Wi-Fi network. But first, check out our best tips for securely using public Wi-Fi.
3. Force Quit and Relaunch Spotify
Force quitting and relaunching Spotify will give the app a fresh start on your iPhone. This is a basic yet effective troubleshooting method for in-app issues.
Step 1: On the home screen of your iPhone, swipe up and hold to reveal the background app windows.
Step 2: Swipe right to look for Spotify and then swipe up to remove the app.
Step 3: Relaunch Spotify and check if the problem is solved.
4. Enable Background App Refresh
Turning Background App Refresh is recommended to keep the app content updated while it runs in the background. For Spotify album art not showing, even for local files, we suggest enabling this feature and seeing if that solves the problem.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Spotify.
Step 3: Tap the toggle next to Background App Refresh to enable this feature.
Step 4: Close Settings and open Spotify to check if the problem is solved.
5. Update Spotify
You can install the updated version of Spotify on your iPhone to remove any bugs causing this issue.
Step 1: Open the App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on your profile icon at the top-right corner.
Step 3: Swipe down, hold, and release to look for app updates.
Step 4: Tap on Update next to Spotify if one is available.
6. Reset Network Settings
The last solution we recommend is resetting your iPhone’s Network Settings. This will reset all your wireless network settings to their default values and should solve the issue. We recommend using this only when cannot benefit from the solutions mentioned above. Do note that you will have to set your network preferences again on your iPhone after following these step:
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on General.
Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom and select Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Step 4: Tap on Reset and then select Reset Network Settings.
Step 5: Enter your iPhone passcode and tap on Reset Network Settings again to confirm.
Step 6: Open Spotify again to check if the problem is solved.
Album Art Love
These solutions will help solve Spotify album art not showing on your iPhone. While Spotify gives many options to enjoy music and podcasts, you might switch to a different platform. You might not be happy with a few changes or you don’t find the app exciting anymore. In that case, consider deleting your Spotify account. This will remove all your data from Spotify and is much better than just deleting the app.
