Fix 1: Switch to Default System Launcher

I’ve noticed that a few widgets from MIUI apps do not work on third-party launchers. Try switching to the default system launcher.

Open Settings > Home screen > Default launcher and select System launcher.

Fix 2: Remove Icons to Accommodate Widget

If your home screen doesn’t have enough space to accommodate the widget, you will see an error message. You can add the widget again after removing a few icons on your home screen.

Tap and hold an icon on the home screen, and tap on Remove.

Accumulated cache and junk files may cause issues with the default system launcher. Clear the cache to try and fix the issue.

Step 1: Open Settings > Apps > Manage Apps.

Step 2: Tap on the three-dots icon at the top right corner. Select Show All Apps. Now, search for System Launcher.

Step 3: Then, tap on Clear Data > Clear Cache.
