Basic Fixes
- Restart device: Restarting your device can help get rid of any bugs affecting the Screen Recorder app.
- Ensure you aren’t covering the mic: If you’ve selected the sound source as your mic for screen recordings, ensure your fingers or the case isn’t covering the microphone.
- Check storage: Ensure there’s enough storage available on your device to accommodate new screen recordings.
- Use another gallery app: Try watching the screen recording in another gallery app like Google Photos, and see if you can listen to the audio.
Fix 1: Check Sound Settings for Screen Recorder
Ensure that you’ve permitted the sound recorder app to capture sounds using the right source.
Step 1: Open the Screen Recorder app, and tap on the Settings icon.
Step 2: Tap on the menu next to Sound source, and select the source of your choice.
Mic records all the sounds from outside of your device while you’re recording your screen. Whereas System sounds capture the sounds that are being played by the app you are recording.
Fix 2: Update Screen Recorder App
If there’s any bug affecting the Screen Recorder app, you can try updating it to the latest version. Open the Security app, and tap on Manage apps. Check if there’s an update available for the Screen Recorder app.
Fix 3: Clear Cache
Accumulated cache and junk files can result in bugs. To clear cache for the app, long tap on the Screen Recorder app, and select App info. Tap on Clear Data > Clear cache.
Fix 4: Use Third Party Screen Recorder App
If none of the above methods work, you can always use a screen recorder app from the Play Store. We recommend using popular, and highly rated apps such as Screen Recorder from InShot, or AZ Screen Recorder.
