Basic Troubleshooting
- Double-check the number and country code: A silly mistake could be causing the issue. So, before we move on, double-check the country code and mobile number and try to receive a security code again.
- Check the spam folder for messages or email: Check Spam folders in your SMS and email app to ensure the code isn’t mistakenly sent there.
- Check internet connection: If your phone is experiencing network connection issues, ensure that your phone has network bars before requesting a verification code from Discord.
- Check for Discord outage: Discord servers frequently face downtime. When the company’s servers face problems, you can’t send messages. You can visit the company’s dedicated system status website to ensure all systems are operational.
- Use another device: Discord has native apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android. If a specific app is giving you trouble adding a mobile number, use another platform and try again.
Fix 1. Log Out and Log Back In
Are you trying to add a mobile number to your Discord account? If you continue to run into errors, sign out from your account and log back in. Let’s take the Discord desktop as an example here.
