  • Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Basic Fixes

  • Check Microphone permissions for the Voice Memos app: Open Settings > Voice Memos > enable Microphone access.
  • Check internal storage: Your iPhone should have enough internal storage to store longer-duration voice memos.
  • Update iOS version: This will update the Voice Memos app on your iPhone.

Fix 1: Disable iCloud Backup for Voice Memos (if It Is Full)

If you are using iCloud to store voice memos but that’s running out of storage, disable the backup.

Open Settings > profile name > iCloud > Show All > disable Voice Memos backup.

Fix 2: Enable Background App Refresh

You must enable the Background App Refresh for the Voice Memos app on your iPhone. So, check whether Background App Refresh is enabled. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone and select Voice Memos.

Step 2: Check if Background App Refresh is enabled. If not, toggle it on.

Fix 3: Reset All Settings

Next, you can reset all settings on your iPhone to see if the Voice Memos app starts working. This method will restore all the default settings for your iPhone, so you don’t have to worry about data loss.

Open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.
