VLC player is available on Amazon App Store. Meaning the installation process is quite simple compared to sideloading. Follow the steps below.
Note: We are using the new Fire OS UI on the Fire TV Stick in the example below. If you haven’t received the update, make sure to update the OS to the latest version from the Settings app.
Step 1: Visit Fire TV Stick home.
Step 2: Move to the Find menu.
Step 3: Select Search.
Step 4: Search for VLC player using the virtual keyboard or ask Alexa to search for VLC.
Step 5: Select VLC from the suggestions.
Step 6: Recognize the app with the famous orange-colored traffic cone.
Step 7: Click on Get from the following menu.
Step 8: Within a minute or two, Fire TV Stick will download the app.
That’s it. You have successfully installed the VLC media player on the Fire TV Stick.
