Sometimes, applications you have open might, for various reasons, move partially past the edges of your screen. It’s a common issue on dual monitor setups, but can happen on individual displays, too. If the title bar goes too far, you won’t be able to click on it to move the window back where you want it, or click the buttons to minimize or close the window.
Fortunately, there are some ways to work around this. This guide looks at what to do when you can’t click on title bar to move in Windows.
Method 1 to Move a Window With Title Bar Off Screen. Right-Click and Shift
This method lets you freely move windows around to get them exactly where you want them, perfect for those that have disappeared off the edges or top of your screen.
Step 1. Select the app you want to move. Then, hold “Shift” and right-click on the app icon to make a small pop-up menu appear. Note that you can also access this menu a different way, by hovering your mouse cursor over the window’s thumbnail and right-clicking it.

Step 2. Select the “Move” option from the menu. You can then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the window where you want it.
Method 2. Keyboard Shortcut
This works similarly to the previous method, except you use a quick keyboard shortcut to enable the “Move” feature.
Step 1. Click on the icon of the app you want to move in the taskbar.

Step 2. Press the “Alt,” “Spacebar,” and “M” keys together. Your cursor will change to an icon with arrows pointing in all directions. You can then use the arrows on your keyboard to reposition the window.
Method 3. Using the Windows Key
Another keyboard fix when you can’t click on title bar to move in Windows is as follows:
Step 1. Click the app icon in the taskbar to select the window you want to move.

Step 2. Long-press the “Windows” key, then, while still holding it down, press either the “Left Arrow” or “Right Arrow” keys to move it around the screen.
Method 4. Adjust Your Resolution
If the keyboard shortcuts and menus above fail, you can also try adjusting your display’s resolution to make hidden or off-screen windows reappear.
Step 1. Press “Windows” and “I” to access the Settings. Then click on “System.”

Step 2. Select “Display,” then scroll down to find the “Display resolution” option. Click the drop-down menu and try switching to other resolutions temporarily to see if your window reappears.
