For teams that use Google Drive regularly, integrating it with Grok Studio can offer more advanced organization and data analytics once Grok AI is given access to the files. Integrating your Drive with Grok Studio is easy to do and doesn’t require any third-party apps, thanks to a built-in integration system.
How to Connect Google Drive to Grok Studio
Step 1. Go to ‘https://grok.com/’ and log in or create an account.

Step 2. Click on the paperclip icon and select ‘Connect Google Drive.’

Step 3. Select the account that you want to connect and log in.
Step 4. Click ‘Continue’ to grant access permission to Grok Studio.

The window should close automatically once you log in and Grok Studio will then send you a confirmation message to let you know the integration was completed.

What You Can Do With the Google Drive Integration
Once your Google Drive is connected, you can start importing your files and creating individual workspaces to keep them organized. Additionally, you can ask Grok questions about the information in them. Here are a few of the main features available and how to best make use of them:
Import Files Into Projects
You can import files, images, and documents from Google Drive into Grok Studio. Here’s how:
Step 1. Open any project in Grok Studio.
Step 2. Click on the paperclip icon below the chat.
Step 3. Choose ‘Add from Google Drive.’

Step 4. Select the files you want to import.
The files will appear in the chat for you to interact with.
Link Shared Folders for Team Access
If your team uses shared folders in Google Drive, you can link them to Grok Studio so everyone can see the same thing.
Step 1. Go to your ‘Workspaces.’

Step 2. Look for the paperclip again, labelled ‘Attach.’

Step 3. Click ‘Add from Google Drive’ then select a shared folder.
Team members with access to the Grok project will now also see the contents of the Google Drive folder.
Keep Files Synced Across Platforms
Changes made to files in Google Drive can automatically update in Grok Studio so after importing files, you won’t need to re-upload them every time something changes.
If you update a file in Google Drive, go back to Grok Studio, right-click on the file and choose ‘Refresh’ and the newest version from Google Drive will load.
Use Grok Studio to Analyze Files
Once you’ve imported a file from your Drive, you can ask Grok to analyze it for information. Use natural language in your prompts, such as ‘What date is this project due?’ or ‘What trend does this financial report indicate?’ Grok can:
- Provide a summary of the file
- Identify patterns in data
- Search for specific keywords
- Suggest courses of action based on the information in the file
