How to Find Coordinates of a Place on Google Maps
To get longitude and latitude in Google Maps, follow the below steps.
On iPhone and Android App
Step 1: Open the Google Maps app > tap and hold the location you want to find coordinates until you see the Dropped pin pop-up.
Note: Long-press the unlabelled location near your area if you use an iPhone or iPad.
Step 2:Â Expand this page on Android to see the coordinates of the place. Using an iPhone or iPad, you will see the coordinates in the same pop-up.
Step 3: Tap the coordinates to copy and share them through your preferred messaging app.


On PC
You should open Google Maps on your browser to follow these steps.
Step 1: Open Google Maps.
Step 2: Zoom in to find the place if necessary, or search the place in the search bar.
Step 3: Now, right-click on the location. The coordinates in decimal degrees are at the top of the menu options.
Step 4: Click on the coordinates to copy and share them with whoever you want.
Tip: If you prefer using the DMS format for coordinates, paste them into the search bar in Google Maps and hit enter.

Use Coordinates to Find a Location in Google Maps
Now that you know how to search coordinates on Google Maps let us find locations by coordinates.
- If you have received a link from someone, you only have to click on it. It will take you to that location.
- For those with longitude and latitude, paste it into the search bar in Google Maps; you will see the place.
- Lastly, you can manually type in the location coordinates in the search bar, and Google Maps will navigate you there. However, use the commas (,) and periods (.) in the right places.

Can you use Google Maps coordinates anywhere else?
Yes. GPS coordinates won’t change based on the map app you use. It is a globally recognized standard and can be used across all the other map apps or old maps.
