Basic Fixes:
- Confirm you have a stable internet: Before exploring further fixes, confirm your internet connection is stable and strong.
- Disable problematic extensions and add blockers: If you have new extensions installed or add blockers, disable them and see if they resolve the problem.
- Ensure the Google Drive server is online: If the servers are down, wait until they return online.
- Try Incognito mode: Incognito blocks out extensions that may lead to the problem and prove a valuable workaround.
Fix 1: Enable Offline access
This solution will help you walk around the problem when your internet connection is unstable. It ensures you don’t lose your work completely. Any edits you make will be saved locally on your device.
Step 1: Open the Google Docs file.
Step 2: Click the File menu > click Make available offline.

Fix 2: Check Google Drive Storage
If you have exhausted your drive storage, you can’t save more files, and this could lead to the Google Docs auto-saving issue. If the storage is full, you should delete or transfer some files or buy additional storage.
