Basic Fixes
- Use the official accessories: Your Fire TV Stick comes with official accessories that help ensure your device gets sufficient power and can work properly. So, when powering on your Fire TV Stick, use the official HDMI connector and power cable.
- Try using another HDMI port: You could also try switching the Fire TV Stick to a different port on your TV and checking if it boots past the Amazon logo screen.
- Plug the Fire TV Stick directly into the TV: If you use a third-party HDMI connecter or splitter instead of the one that came in the box, the Fire TV Stick device might error out. In this case, try plugging the device directly into your TV’s HDMI port and checking again.
- Ensure the remote is working properly: If your Fire TV Stick’s remote is out of batteries or not working properly, it might not relay the commands to your device. This can potentially cause it to be stuck. In this case, check the remote, and if it’s not working, use the remote app.
- Wait a while: If your Fire TV Stick is stuck, leave it on for about 25-30 minutes before troubleshooting. This can be helpful if you’ve recently updated your device.
Fix 1: Unplug and Re-Plug Fire TV Stick
Amazon recommends unplugging your Fire TV Stick device from the power outlet for at least 3 seconds and plugging it back in. This can help hard reboot any Fire TV Stick device that is stuck on the Amazon logo screen and unresponsive to remote commands.
Fix 2: Use a Different Power Outlet
If the power outlet you use is faulty or doesn’t have enough power, it can cause the Fire TV Stick device to malfunction and get stuck on the logo screen. In this case, plug the device into a different socket and try using it again.
Tip: You can also plug your Fire TV Stick device into a socket right next to or closer to your Wi-Fi router and leave it for a while. Then, plug it near your TV and try using it again.
Fix 3: Reset Your Fire TV Stick
Corrupted apps and files on your Fire TV Stick could also cause it to freeze during usage or get stuck on the Amazon logo screen during start-up. In this case, resetting the Fire TV Stick will reset it completely and remove any such items. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Press and hold the remote’s right and back buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.

Now, release the buttons and follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Fire TV Stick. Once done, power it on and see if the issue has been fixed.
