Basic Fixes
- Check camera permission: Go to Settings > Notes > enable the app to use iPhone Camera.
- Force quit and relaunch Notes: If the app has been running in the background for some time, this will give it a fresh start on your iPhone.
- Updates the Notes app: Install the latest version of iOS to remove temporary glitches and bugs.
Fix 1: Use iCloud Folder
The Notes app lets you store your notes on your iPhone or in the iCloud account. For the documents scanning to work in the Notes app, use the app with your iCloud account. Several users on the official Apple Community forum recommend that. If you aren’t sure about that, here’s how to check and use iCloud account with the Notes app.
Step 1: Open the Notes app on your iPhone and tap on Folders.
Step 2: Tap on All iCloud and open an existing or a new note and check if you can see the Camera icon at the bottom.

If you have enough storage space, switch to your iCloud account for storing all your notes by default. For that, disable storing notes on your device.
Open Settings > Notes > enable On My iPhone account.
Fix 2: Enable Notes App in iCloud
If you don’t see the iCloud folder in the Notes app, your iCloud account may not be syncing your notes. Here’s how to check and enable the same on your iPhone.
Open Settings > profile name > iCloud > Show All > Notes > Sync this iPhone.

Fix 3: Check Default Notes Account
If you have multiple accounts signed in on your iPhone, ensure that your iCloud account is set to default for the Notes app. Here’s how to check this.
Open Settings > Notes > Default Account > choose iCloud.
