Snapchat on iOS and Android uses a similar UI. For this post, we will use the Snapchat app for iPhone to showcase the steps here. You can perform the same steps on Android to get the job done.
Step 1: Open Snapchat on your iPhone or Android. It will open the camera viewfinder menu. Tap on the profile menu at the top.
Step 2: Tap on the three-dot menu beside the My Story option.
Step 3: Select Story Settings from the context menu. Tap on Custom and it will open your friend list.
Step 4: Select the contacts from whom you want to hide the story. Once done, tap on the Block button at the bottom.
When you want to share your stories with all your friends again, change the Story Setting to My Friends or Everyone.
This trick works fine when you want to hide a few selected friends from viewing your Snapchat story. But what if you have hundreds of friends on the social platform and want to share the story with selected users only?
Instagram has a feature called Closed Friends that allows you to create a close circle of friends to share stories with them only. Snapchat doesn’t have such an add-on and you need to send the story as a DM (direct message) to close friends.

Does the Change Affect Current Snapchat Stories?
After posting the story on Snapchat, you can go to Story Settings, and hide it from selected friends. It makes sense to perform the privacy tweak and then post the story. What if your friend views the story right after you post it on Snapchat?

When you block selected friends from viewing a Snapchat story, they won’t know about the change. Your friends can make an educated guess when they don’t see any story from you for a long time.
