Natasha Romanoff is back, and she is back with a bang! Black Widow — the assailant turned superhero who is feared by both superheroes and supervillains alike, has finally got her solo movie, and we can’t be more excited. The movie trailer, which released in the first week of December, was a surprise for the lot of us.
[Spoilers ahead] If you recollect, the Black Widow appeared in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame pummeling to her death. Sigh.
Well, it seems all is not lost yet. This talented spy cum assailant is set to set the silver screen ablaze with her origin story. Set somewhere before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, this movie will most likely reveal Black Widow’s mysterious past, her time in the strange Red Room, and how she came about to be the world’s most dangerous assassin.
1. Daughter of Ivan
If you haven’t been leaving under the stone these past three years and missed watching Avengers: Endgame, here some distressing news: The Black Widow dies, but not before the Red Skull tells Scarlett Johansson’s character that she’s the daughter of Ivan. So, who is Ivan? Did she have a family?
2. The Biker
Yeah, the first solo movie of the Black Widow is due in May 2020. While we fans are ecstatic, let us not forget that it took Marvel 12 years and 23 movies to finally Natasha Romanoff her due.
3. The One with a Mysterious Past
Though this female superhero is a master in martial arts and a skilled marksman, her main weapon is the Widow’s Bite. It’s essentially a pair of bracelets that can electrocute and knock out enemy soldiers and assailants. If you remember correctly, Black Widow used this weapon extensively in Avengers Civil War.
4. Somewhere in a Parallel Universe
And this was the ending that we hoped for, but well the budding romance was cut short by murderous rampages with one of the characters bursting into space — sigh (again).
5. The God, the Spy, and the Hulk
The above image makes for a perfect wallpaper, especially if you have a clean desktop. The Black Widow flanked on both sides by two of the strongest superheroes is something you do not get every day (**wink**).
A classic mixture of Thor Ragnarok and Avengers movies, am I right?
6. The Red Room Graduate
Did you know that Natasha Romanoff was initially a KGB operative, graduating from the Red Room Academy as a highly-skilled assassin? Her body is resistant to aging and heals above the human rate. Biotechnology, I tell you.
7. The Assassin Turned Avenger
Do you like your PC’s home screen painted white? If yes, this is the perfect wallpaper for you. Just make sure to keep the home screen free of icons, and you will have the bravest superhero gracing your home screen, ready to battle it out.
8. Neon Neon Everywhere
Who doesn’t love a splash of bright colors on their home screen? And when it has your favorite Marvel superhero in a slightly different avatar, then nothing like it.
If you ask me, this scene reminds me of the scene in Avengers: Endgame, where Natasha Romanoff ‘rescues’ Ronin aka Hawkeye. What about you?
9. The Hunter and the Hunted
That makes for an endearing story when the world’s most efficient marksman is hunted by her past, no?
10. The Spy
If you have a phone with an AMOLED display, this image of the Black Widow will make the perfect home screen. While the dark background will help save battery life, the rest will glow in all its glory.
11. Avatar
The Black widow has gone through many changes in physical appearance in all the MCU movies. But what has remained unchanged is her fighting style and skill.
Did you know that Natasha Romanoff is trained in Karate, Kung fu, wrestling, boxing (remember her fight in Iron Man 2), and ballet?
12. The Reunion
This movie also brings Red Guardian (David Harbour) in addition to Yelena (Florence Pugh) and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz).
13. A New Beginning
Need we say anything at all?
And Phase 4 Begins!
And with this movie, which is set for a May 2020 release, Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe begins. So, which new movies are you dying to watch?
