Brilliant Design

The Honor 9i is one of the first Honor phones in India to feature a bezel-less FullView display. It packs in an FHD+ 5.9-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

Customizable EMUI Features

The Honor 9i runs on the in-house EMUI version 5.1. The EMUI is similar to MIUI and EUI from the Chinese Android phone manufactures, and feels snappy and feature-rich at the same time.

Decent Battery Life

The Honor 9i is powered by a 3340mAh battery unit, which can deliver roughly two days of standby time.

A Good Camera for Occasions

The Honor 9i is is the world's first 4-camera smartphone. However, that is more of a gimmick than the reality. At the back, you get a 16-megapixel camera along with a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera. While at the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera assisted by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Power of Kirin Processor

With Huawei becoming the second leading smartphone brand globally and in China, it has taken the opportunity to launch a new phone in India — the Honor 9i. The Honor 9i is being seen as the Indian counterpart of the Chinese Huawei Maimang 6.

The Huawei Honor 9i is priced at Rs 17,999 and will go on sale on October 14 as a Flipkart exclusive. Given that the Indian market is flooded with smartphones in the sub-Rs 20,000 price bracket, I’d say that the Honor 9i has a lot of competition.

Plus, with the introduction of phones such as Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5S Plus, it would be interesting to see how the Indian consumers respond to the Honor 9i.

What is the OS version in the Honor 9i?

Honor 9i packs in Android Nougat on top of the in-house EMUI. Android Nougat means that you get a ton of features on your phones such as multi-window and better notification controls.

What are the available audio features of the Honor 9i?

The Honor 9i packs in the Huawei Histen audio system. It’s essentially a set of six algorithms that guarantee high sound quality. Honor also alternatively names it as 3D Audio technology.

Which charger type does the Honor 9i support?

Unfortunately, the Honor 9i still comes with a micro-USB charger. At a time when most of the phone companies, including Xiaomi, has adopted USB Type-C charging cables, it’s high time that Honor upgrades its budget series too.

Does it have the support for VoLTE networks?

Yes, the phone supports 4G VoLTE networks.

Does the Honor 9i support 4K videos?

No, the Honor 9i doesn’t have the support for 4K videos. However, it can record 1080p videos at 60fps.

Does it have capacitive hardware buttons?

The Honor 9i has software buttons instead of hardware buttons. The good news is that the buttons or the navigation bar can be easily customized with the aid of third-party apps.
