5 Best Free Android Games for Old People

We get it, when we get old our reflexes are not as sharp as they used to be. But does that mean that we should give up playing games on our phone?

Well no, instead, we just need to tone it down; just a bit, get our mind off of that sniper shooter and get hooked on some really interesting games that we can enjoy without stressing ourselves or our aging muscles.

Gaming is really healthy, even science has proven it. While it can help children have more focus, it can definitely help us get our daily dose of entertainment while keeping our skills sharp. Trust me, there’s nothing better than a game of chess to wind up your day with a mug of hot chocolate (hold the sugar if you have diabetes).

Moving on, here are some of the best free games available for Android users that I feel are absolutely safe for the elderly.

1. Chess

Chess is believed to have originated in Eastern India before the 7th century. Since then, we have seen several versions of this game. However, the basics remain the same. Each player begins with 16 pieces, including the king and the queen. The sole objective of this game is to claim victory over the other side.

This free game on Android is a digital replica of the original game. You can choose the sides and claim victory while abiding by the global rules.

It’s a free-to-play game supported by non-intrusive advertisement. Unlike the physical game, you can undo a wrong move and even save a game if you want to take rest. Everything is possible in this digital era.

What’s more, you can actually choose from 6 different board designs and you can also select the difficulty level or how aggressive the opponent is towards you.

2. Word Connect

Well, to be honest, I play this game all the time. It helps me find newer words and is perfect for doing something during leisure.

As the name suggests, in Word Connect, you have to swipe between various letters to form words that are a part of the puzzle while adhering to the character limit.

This is more of a relaxing game as there is no time limit. It starts off easy, its initial puzzles till level 16 are fairly easy but they get more difficult as you level up.

As a reward, you are given coins for completing chapters and solving bonus words. You can use these coins to buy hints if you get stuck somewhere.

There are no in-app ads initially but, as you progress, you will see ads after each level. Thankfully, the ads are only in the form of photos and not videos.

3. Math Master

Simple mathematics is a part of our daily lives. It helps us in more ways than you could ever imagine. For a few of us, solving even the most complex math equation is fairly simple.

But, if you’re one who depends heavily on calculators then you probably take more time than usual to solve even the simplest of problems, you should give Math Master a try.

It’s a game that teaches you math in the most entertaining way and at your pace. You can choose the level of difficulty and complexity. Enough talk … I think you should hit that download button and see for yourself.

4. Tricky Test 2: Genius Brain?

A game with a rating of 4.8 on the Play Store is likely to have something unassumingly smart about it. And yes, Tricky Test lives up to its repute.

It’s fun and addictive and as I said before, unassumingly smart. Initially, it’d throw in lucid questions but just when you start getting comfortable with it, it’d throw an absurd teaser with an equally absurd solution.

A great game to cheer you up on a dull day and don’t be surprised if you end up laughing at yourself. It doesn’t have any obstructive ads. However, you’ll have to deal with the ad banner at the bottom.

5. Pigments

Look no further if you’re looking for something a bit fast-paced. Pigments is a cool Android app that lets you play with colors. The aim of Pigments is to mix drops of primary colors to create a long streak of a secondary color.

You’d have to blend primary colors to create other colors and then strike the similar-colored dots away.

The color-blending process between two dots is a delight to watch. We believe you will have loads of fun joining these dots.

The game starts with 60 seconds on the clock but, depending on the number of drops you remove, you earn more time. You can add 15 seconds to a game or turn 10 random drops of the more abundant color onto the more scarce one to balance the game. I know you’re a smart one to figure it all out.

Gaming is Healthy

Gaming, be it on mobile phones or consoles, is super healthy. It helps keep our mind sharp and our reflexes lightning fast.

Today, you really do not need to put in much effort or spend a lot of money as well. Take an example of Android, more than 90% of all games are available free of cost. All you need is a cellphone to install them and enjoy.

While we are on the topic of games, here are a few more exciting lists related to games that you might want to look at.
