Unlike iOS, there are no strict guidelines for app icons on Mac. Apple changed the behavior with the macOS Big Sur update, and the company is trying to bring uniformity among the app icons on the Mac. However, even after a year of Big Sur, we have seen some big names such as WhatsApp, Spotify, Skype, and many others yet to bring a subtle change to their app logo. You can easily change app icons in Mac and bring a visual refresh to Mac Dock and Apps menu.
The customization options work differently on the macOS compared to iOS. On the iPhone, the users need to choose from different apps icons from the app. You can’t download an app icon from the web and implement it on the iPhone.
However, that’s not the case with Mac. With the macOS, the developers can’t offer different app icons to change the logo. Instead, you need to use the web to download and apply icons.
Without wasting any time, let’s find some good app icons for your favorite apps and apply a fresh avatar to the app.
