6 Best Thin Cases for Google Pixel 6a

The Pixel 6a is Google’s latest mid-range smartphone for majority folks. It has the top-tier Tensor chip found on the flagship Pixel 6 series along with a dual camera setup. While there are several features that the Pixel 6a borrows from its elder siblings, Google had to cut some corners to make the phone cheaper. One of them is the material of the back panel.

best thin cases for Pixel 6a

The Pixel 6a has a plastic back, unlike the glass back on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This means that it’s easy to scratch when you rest it on a table or even keep it in your pocket. The best way to protect the back and prevent these scratches is to get a case. And if you don’t like the additional bulk, a thin case is the way to go. Here are some of the best thin cases for the Pixel 6a to protect your brand new phone without ruining the in-hand feel.

But, before we get to them cases, here are some other articles you may be interested in –

That out of the way, let’s now get to the cases themselves.

1. Bokoo Crystal Clear Case

Starting off the list with a clear case to show off back of the Pixel 6a. If you have the sage green variant of the Pixel 6a, consider picking Bokoo’s clear case to protect it  and not add much of a bulk.

Clear cases are a great way to show off the actual look of your smartphone without sacrificing protection. This one from Bokoo is rather thin too making it a great fit for those who want a case that doesn’t increase the phone’s dimensions. It’s a flexible TPU case so you’re going to get some basic protection against scratches and minor drops.

Given that it’s made out of TPU, expect the case to turn yellowish with use. This is a downside of using clear cases like these and you can’t avoid it. It’s pretty cheap though so when it does turn yellow, you can always get a replacement without breaking the bank.

2. Spigen Thin Fit

Spigen’s Thin Fit offers a good balance of thickness and protection. Besides retaining the physical profile of your Pixel phone, you can give it a decent protection too.

The Spigen Thin Fit has a matte black exterior with a slightly hard back plate. This makes it slightly more durable while still being able to maintain a slim profile. The Pixel 6a fits in snugly with all the buttons and cutouts in the right places. The case also protects the protruding rear camera module at the back.

Since the back is a plain matte finish, it may not feel as grippy as some other cases. This slim case doesn’t add much weight to the Pixel 6a.

3. Spigen Liquid Air

The Spigen Liquid Air is also a relatively thin case. However, it provides slightly better grip and protection when compared to the Thin Fit model.

The Spigen Liquid Air arguably looks better than the Thin Fit thanks to the textured back. Unlike the Thin Fit which has a plain matte back, the Liquid Air opts for a subtle texture that feels good when you hold the phone for long periods of time.

While it’s not as slim as the Thin Fit, the Spigen Liquid Air offers better protection and for that, the slight compromise in thickness seems fair. It’s not a thick or rugged case by any means, but just enough to instill some confidence that your phone will be safe if you happen to drop it.

4. Caseology Nano Pop

The Nano Pop series of cases from Caseology, as the name suggests, is for those who like an element of color pop in their cases. It’s available in a few loud colors that make your phone stand out while remaining slim.

Caseology Nano Pop brings not-so-subtle elements to the case around the camera cutout and on the interior that makes it stand out. Besides, it boasts of a certified military grade protection, but that doesn’t mean it’s invincible. The dotted texture at the side provides you a better grip, especially while clicking photos with a single hand.

It gives a refreshing look to your Pixel 6a by adding an element of fun with the case. It’s also quite slim and lightweight – all without adding any bulk to the Pixel 6a. If you like subtle but classy looks, then this case is a good option.

5. Torras Translucent Case

Torras has emerged as one of the popular brands that make translucent, slim cases for phones but with a good amount of protection. Torras refers to this case as being shockproof while still rather slim compared to most protective cases.

Unlike most clear cases, the one from Torras lets you flaunt the back of your phone but in a subtle manner. The smoked rear that gives a neat translucent look. While it’s not as cloudy as most cases, you can still identify the color of your phone.

The back is made of hard polycarbonate for better protection. Meanwhile the sides are slightly softer and flexible to wrap around the phone. The brand claims that the case can handle drops of up to 8-feet but given the slim nature of the case, we wouldn’t suggest relying too much on it for drop protection.

6. Google Official Protective Case

Google’s official case for the Pixel 6a is suitable for those looking for a straightforward option. It’s a thin, translucent case that is available in Seaform and Charcoal colors. However, this TPU case has a matte back, but lacks protection against drops. But if you’re pretty careful, then it provides the usual slim profile to your phone.

Albeit expensive, this case from Google fits the Pixel 6a perfectly. The color looks great and complement the phone. Meanwhile, the matte back provide a good grip when held. Unfortunately, this case isn’t meant for casual users who seek a bit of protection for their phone.

That said, the case is sufficient to protect your Pixel 6a’s back and sides from scratches. If looks is high on your priority list, it fits the bill.

Keep Them Scratches Away

A slim case may not protect your phone’s display from getting shattered when it falls on concrete. But, it can surely protect the plastic back from getting scratched and help you grip the phone batter when you’re using it — all without affecting the original in-hand feel too much.
