Stickers in Telegram go beyond using emojis while chatting with your contacts. You can add and delete Telegram Sticker packs from Android or iPhone. But it will be a bummer if you won’t be able to convey your thoughts using stickers on Telegram.
That might kill all the fun you have in your chats, right? But this post will help you by bringing the best fixes for stickers not working in Telegram on iPhone and Android.
1. Check if Mobile Data Use Is Enabled
Let’s troubleshoot internet connectivity for the Telegram app on your Android and iPhone. You should first check whether the app can use mobile data on your respective device.
For iPhone
Step 1:Â Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2:Â Scroll down and tap on Telegram.
Step 3:Â Tap the toggle next to Mobile Data to allow its use if disabled previously.
Step 4:Â Close Settings and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
For Android
Step 1:Â Long-press on the Telegram app icon and tap on the ‘i’ icon to open App Info.
Step 2:Â Tap on ‘Mobile data & Wi-Fi.’
Step 3:Â Tap the toggle next to Background data to enable Mobile Data usage for the app.
Step 4:Â Close App Info and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
2. Switch From Mobile Data to Wi-Fi
If you are not getting good internet speeds on mobile data at your current location, you can switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi on your Android or iPhone. After that, check your internet speed which will help you understand whether you need to switch to a 5GHz frequency band, provided you have a dual-band router.
3. Enable Loop Animated Stickers
Stickers in Telegram are animated, making them fun to use while chatting with friends and family. If Stickers are not working in Telegram, you can check if they have been enabled for looping after you have sent them.
Step 1:Â Open Telegram on your Android or iPhone.
Step 2:Â Tap on Settings at the bottom-right corner (iPhone).
For Android, tap the Hamburger Menu icon at the top-left corner and select Settings.
Step 3: Scroll down and Tap on Stickers and Emoji.
Step 4:Â Tap the toggle next to Loop Animated Stickers to enable the feature.
Return to your chat and check if the problem is solved.
4. Change Cache Limit
The App Cache saves all your preferences and data collected over a period of time while using an app. The Telegram app cache stores your data like Photos, Videos, and Stickers. So if you have a lot of Stickers downloaded on your Android or iPhone, you can change the cache size limit in the app.
Step 1:Â Open the Telegram app on your Android and iPhone.
Step 2:Â Tap on Settings at the bottom-right corner (iPhone).
For Android, tap the Hamburger menu icon at the top-left corner and select Settings.
Step 3:Â Scroll down and tap on Data and Storage.
Step 4:Â Tap on Data and Storage.
Step 5:Â Scroll down and under Maximum Cache Size, use the slider to increase the cache size limit.
Step 6:Â Close the app and launch it again after some time to check if the problem is solved.
5. Enable Background App Refresh (iPhone)
On your iPhone, you can check if Background App Refresh has been enabled for the Telegram app. This feature helps in checking for new content regularly. This feature works only if the app keeps running in the background. Disabling this feature might be one of the reasons why Stickers are not working in Telegram.
Step 1:Â Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2:Â Scroll down and tap on Telegram.
Step 3:Â Tap the toggle next to Background App Refresh to enable it, if disabled previously.
Step 4:Â Close Settings and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
6. Check Internal Storage
If you wish to use new Stickers in Telegram, you won’t be able to download them if you don’t have enough internal storage on your Android or iPhone. We suggest checking the internal storage and deleting data that are not required.
For iPhone
Step 1:Â Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2:Â Scroll down and tap on General.
Step 3:Â Tap on iPhone Storage.
Step 4:Â Check for apps and data that are occupying maximum storage.
If you find something unnecessary, you can tap on it and clear it from the internal storage.
Step 5:Â Once done, close the Settings app and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
For Android
Step 1:Â Open Settings on your Android.
Step 2:Â Tap on Storage.
Step 3:Â Check which apps and files are occupying maximum storage.
You can delete apps and data that are not required anymore to clear up the internal storage.
Step 4: Once done, close Settings and open Telegram again to check if the problem is solved.
7. Force Quit and Relaunch Telegram
If the app has been running in the background on your iPhone or Android, you can try to force quit and restart it. This will give a fresh start to Telegram on your device.
Steps For iPhone
Step 1:Â On your iPhone’s home screen, swipe up and hold to reveal background app windows.
Step 2:Â Swipe right and look for Telegram. Then swipe up to remove it.
Step 3:Â Relaunch Telegram and check if the problem is solved.
Steps for Android
Step 1:Â Long-press the Telegram icon and tap on the App Info icon.
Step 2:Â Tap on Force Quit.
Step 3:Â Tap on Ok to confirm.
Step 4:Â Close App Info and relaunch Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
