The Telegram app offers various customization features, like creating a custom theme on Mobile. But a standard customization tool available in iPhones is Dark Mode which is usable on the system and third-party apps, including Telegram.
But some users complain that Dark Mode stops working in the Telegram app, and they cannot use the feature. So if you are also facing the same, we bring you some solutions to help you fix Dark Mode not working in Telegram on your iPhone.
1. Check Night Mode Settings
Telegram app offers the built-in feature of Night Mode that lets you switch the app to Dark Mode. If you cannot use Dark Mode in Telegram, you should check the Night Mode app’s settings on your iPhone. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Telegram on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on Settings at the bottom-right corner.
Step 3: Select Appearance from the list of options.
Step 4: If you have not selected the Night Mode option, select Auto-Night Mode.
Step 5: Ensure that ‘System’ is selected for enabling Auto-Night Mode in Telegram.
Alternatively, you can tap on Chat Themes and select Dark to use Telegram in Dark Mode permanently.
2. Check Appearance Settings on iPhone
If you want Telegram to switch to Dark Mode depending on the theme of your iPhone, you should also check the Appearance setting on your device. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Display and Brightness.
Step 3: Check if Automatic has been selected for switching your iPhone to Dark Mode.
If not, you can tap the toggle to enable the feature.
We also recommend checking the schedule of Night Mode switching on your iPhone. Tap on Options and check the Appearance Schedule.
3. Check Location Services
The Automatic Dark Mode Appearance feature works on your iPhone by following the Time Zone of your current location. So if you are still facing the same problem, you should check if Location Services are enabled on your iPhone and if Telegram is allowed to use them or not.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Privacy and Security.
Step 3: Tap on Location Services.
Step 4: Tap the toggle next to Location Services to enable them for your iPhone.
Step 5: Scroll down and select Telegram.
Step 6: Enable Location Access for Telegram by selecting an option.
We also suggest enabling the Precise Location access for the app. This will ensure that Telegram records your location for shifting to Dark Mode.
Step 7: After that, close Settings and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
