But some users complain that Dark Mode stops working in the Telegram app, and they cannot use the feature. So if you are also facing the same, we bring you some solutions to help you fix Dark Mode not working in Telegram on your iPhone.
1. Check Night Mode Settings
Telegram app offers the built-in feature of Night Mode that lets you switch the app to Dark Mode. If you cannot use Dark Mode in Telegram, you should check the Night Mode app’s settings on your iPhone. Here’s how.
Step 1:Ā Open Telegram on your iPhone.
Step 2:Ā Tap on Settings at the bottom-right corner.
Step 3:Ā Select Appearance from the list of options.
Step 4:Ā If you have not selected the Night Mode option, select Auto-Night Mode.
Step 5:Ā Ensure that ‘System’ is selected for enabling Auto-Night Mode in Telegram.
Alternatively, you can tap on Chat Themes and select Dark to use Telegram in Dark Mode permanently.
2. Check Appearance Settings on iPhone
If you want Telegram to switch to Dark Mode depending on the theme of your iPhone, you should also check the Appearance setting on your device. Here’s how.
Step 1:Ā Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2:Ā Scroll down and tap on Display and Brightness.
Step 3:Ā Check if Automatic has been selected for switching your iPhone to Dark Mode.
If not, you can tap the toggle to enable the feature.
We also recommend checking the schedule of Night Mode switching on your iPhone. Tap on Options and check the Appearance Schedule.
3. Check Location Services
The Automatic Dark Mode Appearance feature works on your iPhone by following the Time Zone of your current location. So if you are still facing the same problem, you should check if Location Services are enabled on your iPhone and if Telegram is allowed to use them or not.
Step 1:Ā Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2:Ā Scroll down and tap on Privacy and Security.
Step 3:Ā Tap on Location Services.
Step 4:Ā Tap the toggle next to Location Services to enable them for your iPhone.
Step 5:Ā Scroll down and select Telegram.
Step 6:Ā Enable Location Access for Telegram by selecting an option.
We also suggest enabling the Precise Location access for the app. This will ensure that Telegram records your location for shifting to Dark Mode.
Step 7:Ā After that, close Settings and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.

4. Force Quit and Relaunch Telegram
If the Telegram app has been running in the background on your iPhone, we suggest forcing quit and relaunching it to give it a fresh start. This will reset the app and solve the issue of Dark Mode not working.
Step 1:Ā On your iPhone’s home screen, swipe up and hold to reveal the background app windows.
Step 2:Ā Swipe right to look for Telegram. Then swipe up to remove Telegram from running in the background.
Step 3:Ā Relaunch Telegram and check if Dark Mode is working.
5. Update Telegram App
If Dark Mode is still not working in Telegram on your iPhone, the last resort is to check for an app update. Telegram keeps pushing app updates regularly. So the app’s current version on your iPhone may have some bugs or glitches. We suggest updating the app regularly for seamless usage.
Step 1:Ā Open App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2:Ā Tap on your profile photo at the top-right corner.
Step 3:Ā Swipe down to refresh and look for app updates.
Step 4:Ā If an update for Telegram is available, download and install it.
Step 5:Ā Close App Store and open Telegram to check if the problem is solved.
