Huawei Launches Honor 9i With Four Cameras in India at Rs 17,999

Huawei has unveiled its new sub-brand flagship, the Honor 9i, at an event in Goa. The device, which boasts of four camera lenses, will retail at a price of Rs 17,999 and will be available on Flipkart starting October 14, 2017.

The Honor 9i has been branded as the company’s first full-display smartphone with 2.5D curved glass. The screen-to-body ratio is 83 percent, allowing the device to have thinner bezels and a 5.9-inch display without making the device seem bulky.

It is powered by the company’s own octa-core Kirin 659 chipset that has four power cores clocking at 2.36GHz and four energy-efficient cores clocking at 1.7GHz.

Honor 9i will be exclusively available on Flipkart for Rs 17,999.

Last month, Huawei became the second leading smartphone brand, overtaking Apple in the race — globally and in China too.

The device will come in Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue, and Graphite Black colors.

Honor 9i Specs

  • Display: The Honor 9i features a 5.9-inch display (2160 x 1080) with an aspect ratio of 18:9
  • Processor: The device is powered by the octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 659 chipset, which clocks at 2.36GHz, and is supported by Mali-T830 MP2 GPU
  • Camera: The Honor 9i sports a dual camera setup both on the front and back. On the rear, the device gets a 16-megapixel dual-lens unit and a 13-megapixel dual-lens unit on the front
  • Memory and Storage: The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card.
  • Battery: It is backed by a 3340mAh battery unit that can facilitate non-stop gaming for up to 7 hours and 9 hours of video playback.
  • OS: Honor 9i runs on Huawei’s custom Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1.

The device also comes with a native app locker that can be used to lock away those confidential documents and files. The device sports a fingerprint sensor at the back, which can also be used to take photos, videos, answer phone calls, browse photos, stop alarms and perform several other functions.

Huawei also unveiled its new 10,000mAh power bank that will retail at a price of Rs 2,399. Those who opt to buy the device before October 28 will get it at Rs 1,999.
