Google Pixel Launching on October 4
We already have this information, and Google is planning to launch the two new devices on October 4 and it has also been announced by the company spokesperson.
“About a year and a half ago, we brought together various consumer hardware-related efforts and established a single hardware organization within the company. And we’re preparing to unveil our second generation of products on October 4,” Rick Osterloh, Senior VP of Google Hardware at Google, stated.
Google Pixel Will be Made by HTC
The FCC certification which was received on a filing by HTC has confirmed that the Taiwan-based mobile manufacturer will be making the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL device which will feature the same squeezable features as seen on HTC U11.
The squeezing functions, as seen on the HTC U11 will perform certain pre-programmed (but customisable) functions such as opening Google Assistant when you squeeze the Pixel 2 or launching the camera app.
Google Pixel Specs Leaked
Now as reported, some very credible sources have revealed a lot of information pertaining to both the upcoming Google devices. First and foremost, Google Pixel won’t be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 chipset, instead, they will rely on the older 835 chipset, which by far is the leading industry standard for flagship devices.
The upcoming Android O operating system is scheduled to release soon and in all likeliness, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices which will most likely launch the same time as last year in October will run on Android 8 out-of-the-box.
With water resistance becoming a standard for flagship devices, Google is not taking any chances with its new devices. Both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will come with IP67 water resistance as standard.
Both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will be identical in many aspects, the only difference will be in the battery capacity and the screen size. And as we know, apart from the battery, the Pixel 2 XL will get a bigger display featuring QHD resolution.
