“About a year and a half ago, we brought together various consumer hardware-related efforts and established a single hardware organization within the company. And we’re preparing to unveil our second generation of products on October 4,” Rick Osterloh, Senior VP of Google Hardware at Google, stated.
Going forward, the American tech giant can gain a lot from HTC as it did by acquiring Motorola, before selling it off to Lenovo.
HTC U11 Squeeze Feature Might Come to Pixel 2
“Creating beautiful products that people rely on every single day is a journey, and we are investing for the long run. That’s why we’ve signed an agreement with HTC, a leader in consumer electronics, that will fuel even more product innovation in the years ahead,” Osterloh added to his statement.
While it has not been unveiled officially, the squeeze feature, which is quite similar to the one found on the HTC U11, is most likely to come to the second generation Pixel devices — going by the FCC filing from earlier this year.
An official Google page suggests that anyone who is ‘thinking about changing phones’ should ‘stay tuned for more on October 4’ and can also submit their email address to receive updates on the development for that day.
