Pixel 2 Will Get the Squeeze

Latest Google beta application teardown by 9to5Google has revealed a number of features and has also confirmed Pixel 2’s squeeze feature. This feature was earlier revealed by HTC FCC filing recently, bringing HTC u11 like functionality on Pixel 2 as well. For now, it is unclear as to what functions can be assigned but the assistant will get the best out of this one.

Automated Actions

In addition, the routine feature has also been revealed by the teardown. The routine allows several of actions to be assigned to a particular keyword.

For instance, users can simply say goodnight to the assistant on their device and the assistant would know that it is time to turn the lights off or to perform functions assigned to that or any other specified keyword.

Custom Keyword for Assistant

Also included in the application is the code that reveals Google wants users to personalize the assistant. Yes, you read it right. You would soon be able to rename or assign your favorite hot word to your assistant. Imagine renaming the assistant after your pet or someone you like or don’t.

The Pixel 2

The highly anticipated successor to Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL flagship devices from last year has gotten a thumbs-up from the FCC and is expected to hit the retail shelves in the next few months.

Other than that, it has also been confirmed that both the Google Pixel variants will sport a similar rear panel design. The Pixel 2 will also sport bigger bezels than the larger Pixel 2 XL device.

The upcoming Android O operating system is scheduled to release soon. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices that will most likely launch the same time as last year in October will probably include Android Oreo out of the box.
