Google’s instant messaging services have has never been its forte and products like Allo and Duo while have been there, but could not garner many users. With the new dialer app for Google Pixel, the company is baking-in some real goodness.
As reported, the new dialer, version 12 to be specific Google dialer app will come with integrated Google Duo functionality. While this might not change many things for regular users, for those who are frequent with Duo will definitely appreciate the new touch.
A teardown of the new app update revealed that Duo integration is already a part of the new update but is not live as of now.
Google Duo Coming Soon
Google duo allows users to make and receive calls over the internet and with the new update this functionality has been made available alongside the regular calling feature.
Why it is important is because of the fact that Google Duo functionality would be made available to the likes of Pixel, Nexus and also the Essential Phone to a large extent.
While not much has been talked about the new feature, it would not get the standalone features from the Google Duo app but some bits of features and functionality to begin things with.
Duo is a very useful app by Google primarily due to its simple UI. It opens the video camera as soon as you open the app and it can work well on low network strength too. This app doesn’t drop the call when the network signal gets too weak, rather pauses it and keeps track of your network signal to adjust the video quality accordingly so that the former doesn’t happen very often.

With its integration directly in the dialer, users can experience instant calling over the cellular network and over the internet as well if they are in a Wi-Fi zone, which can help in saving money too.
