Hon­or V9 Play and Hon­or 6 Play Launched: 5 Things to Know


Huawei has unveiled a new smartphone in its sub-brand offering, the Honor V9 Play, in China. The V9 Play is a budget device and the company also unveiled the cheaper Honor 6 Play.

The Honor V9 Play is going on sale in China on September 12 in Gold, Red, Blue and Black colors for CNY 999 for the 3GB RAM version and CNY 1,199 for the 4GB RAM variant.

The Honor 6 Play will go on sale in China on Thursday, September 7, at a price of CNY 599.

  • Display: The Honor V9 Play features a 5.2-inch HD display
  • Processor: The device is powered by the octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset which clocks at 1.5GHz and is supported by Mali-T860MP2 GPU
  • Camera: Honor V9 Play sports a 13MP (f/2.2) camera on the rear with PDAF and an 8MP selfie camera
  • Memory and Storage: The device comes in two variants — both come with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card. The cheaper variant gets 3GB RAM while the costlier one comes with 4GB RAM.
  • Battery and OS: V9 Play is powered by a 3,000mAh battery unit and runs on EMUI 5.1 on top of Android Nougat 7.0

  • Display: The Honor 6 Play features a 5-inch HD display
  • Processor: The device is powered by the quad-core MediaTek  MT6737T  chipset which clocks at 1.4GHz and is supported by Mali-T720MP2 GPU
  • Camera: Honor 6 Play sports an 8MP (f/2.0) camera on the rear and a 5MP (f/2.4) selfie camera
  • Memory and Storage: The device houses 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage
  • Battery and OS: Honor 6 Play is powered by a 3,020mAh battery unit and runs on EMUI 4.1 on top of Android Marshmallow 6.0
