While things are pretty hot with the new Xiaomi Mi A1 launch in India, the brand is gearing up for another big launch. The Mi Mix 2 has just been confirmed and will see the light of the day on 11 September. While this flagship will offer a lot of new design elements, compared to its predecessor it will be wicked fast as well.
Qualcomm, the global smartphone chip-maker confirmed the launch date and details regarding the Snapdragon 835 chip that will power the Mi Mix 2. Although other features are not yet confirmed, some of the details have surfaced earlier. According to Geekbench, the Mi Mix 2 will feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Also, there are speculations of another variant featuring a whopping 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage.

Bezel-less is the new standard that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is likely to set and that too for good. According to the leaked images, the phone’s display covers nearly 80 percent of the entire space in the front. For the display, it boasts of a big 6.2-inch QHD-resolution LCD. To power this behemoth, the phone will also get a high-capacity battery similar to that of the Mi Mix.
Going forward, Xiaomi is looking at offering dual cameras on most of its devices and with the Mi Mix 2, it’s a given. While the Xiaomi Mi A1 gets dual 12-megapixel units, the new Xiaomi smartphone is likely to get a higher resolution sensor.
No Stock Android
Even though Xiaomi has shaken hands with Google’s Android One project, the Mi Mix 2 will not be getting any stock Android treatment. Android One will remain a separate series altogether while the Xiaomi device will continue to feature MiUi with its latest Iteration 9.0, expected on the new smartphone.
