IFA 2017 has seen the launch of another brilliant Android smartphone the moto X4. While this new phone from motorola is not their flagship smartphone, it definitely adds more value to the mid-range smartphone lineup. This new device offers brilliant optics and Amazon’s Alexa is its highlight feature.
While the new moto X4 falls strictly under the mid-range price category, it features some powerful hardware under its hood. To augment that motorola has offered some brilliant build quality on this new smartphone which now comes with IP68 water and dust resistance capabilities.
Durability is offered with a chassis made up of metal and the display being protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. The back features a contoured profile which would add to better handling of this device.
Fitting with its price point, the moto X4 utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chip with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. While there is another variant available featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
A Snappy Snapper
One of the highlights of the new moto X4 is the dual camera setup at the back. It is fast becoming a standard even for mid-ranged devices. On the X4, motorola has made use of a 12-megapixel unit in conjunction with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. With this, the new device gets some brilliant photographic capabilities along with depth effects.
The cameras offer f/2.0 and f/2.2 aperture settings for the 12 and the 8-megapixel camera respectively for better low-light photography.
motorola has included an adaptive low-light mode.
The real surprise comes on the front camera which gets a 16-megapixel sensor minus the front flash. To compensate for the flash motorola has included an adaptive low-light mode.
Google Assitant Paired With Amazon Alexa
The new X4 is the first smartphone to feature Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant. While Alexa can help you get around some chores and do things in a more hands-free manner, it is unclear as what more features it will bring to the table.
Android’s very capable Assitant is available on the device and will help you whenever you need it.
motorola has baked intelligence into the device’s camera which can now identify landmarks and offer more information on them. This feature is quite similar to Samsung’s Bixby.
