Only a very few companies have revealed what they are planning to launch during the event. Samsung Note8, LG V30, Fitbit Iconic have already been confirmed, But there is a whole lot coming your way.
But, as always, the rumor mill is hot with all the updates as to what can be expected from Berlin’s biggest technology trade show.

Dual-Camera moto X4 with Alexa Integration
The fourth generation moto X has been launched at IFA 2017 and it comes with a metal and glass design with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display and powered by Snapdragon 630 chipset.
The moto X4 gets a 3000mAh battery pack with Turbo Charger. Its dual-camera unit features 12MP and 8MP sensors and the front camera gets a 16MP snapper. The main catch being, the X4 is coming with Amazon Alexa integration too.
Lenovo has launched two new devices — the Miix 520 and Yoga 920 — Surface competitors powered by the latest Intel processor.
The Lenovo Miix 520 is powered by Intel’s 8th generation quad-core i7 processor, coupled with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and a 12.2-inch display. It also comes with an LTE version.
The Lenovo Yoga 920 also gets Intel’s 8th generation quad-core i7 processor, coupled with 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and a 13.9-inch display. These also come in Star Wars special edition skin.
Both the laptops come with far-field microphones, which means that you can talk to Cortana from afar — shout commands her way.
Sony’s New Xperia, Wireless Earbuds and Smart Speaker
At IFA 2017, Sony unveiled Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact — revamped variants of XZ and X Compact — with a new design and Android Oreo.
Both the new Xperia devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and sport Sony’s Motion Eye camera. The devices also houses a new feature that allows users to scan an object, save a 3D image and then get it printed via a 3D printer.
The company has also launched three headphones with noise cancellation technique — WF-1000X wireless earbud, WI-1000X behind-the-neck earphone, and WF-1000X headphone.
Sony also adds to the list of companies which have launched a Google Assistant-powered smart speaker with its LF-S50G. The device sports speakers for vocal and treble, a subwoofer and an omnidirectional diffuser to spread the sound across the room.
Philips Hue Pendant Light
Adding to the list of Hue smart lights, Philips has unveiled the Hue Pendant Light which can be hung from the ceiling and looks like a big glowing disc.
Called the White Ambiance Cher Suspension light, this is the biggest light in Philips Hue series. The company claims that the new Hue pendant light will run for around 25,000 hours.
LG V30 Flagship Launched
One of the highly anticipated devices that have been launched at the IFA 2017 is LG’s latest flagship device, the V30, which comes with a bezel-less design, a 6-inch OLED (2880 x 1440) FullVision display.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. The V30+ comes with 128GB internal storage.
The V30 sports a dual-camera setup on the rear with 16MP and 13MP (wide-angle) sensors and a 5MP (wide-angle) camera on the front. LG’s latest flagship will run on Android Nougat 7.1.2.
Logitech has unveiled the new Craft keyboard that comes with a relatively large silver dial on the top left of the keyboard that can be customized to be used alongside a host of professional apps.
These include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Integration with Microsoft Office currently only works on Windows PC.
The dial can serve a number of purposes such as turning the volume up or down, skipping tracks on a media player or while scrolling through a page.
The top of the dial is touch sensitive. This is useful, per se, when you’re listening to a song, simply tap on the dial to pause it. The keyboard can be connected via Bluetooth, Logitech’s Unifying Receiver, or a USB Type-C port.
Google Assistant Comes to Third-Party Speakers
During the ongoing IFA 2017 expo, Google announced that the Assistant will soon be making its way to brands other than Google. Not just limited to smartphones or smart speakers.
Google is looking forward to extending its AI to other gadgets including home appliances for a more connected experience.
Google is not limiting the Assistant just to the speakers but is open to other appliances as well. Going forward, users would be able to simply command their washing machines or their microwave ovens to do as the owner desires with a voice command.
Acer has unveiled its towering PC, which comes with 18-core Intel Core i9 Extreme, four-way Radeon RX Vega or dual GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs and supports up to 128GB quad-channel DDR4 RAM.
Needless to say, the Acer Predator Orion 9000 has liquid-cooling in place to keep its powerful components at an optimum temperature for a smooth experience.
Acer Switch 7 Black Edition, Swift 5 and Spin 5
The company also launched new 2-in-1 detachable notebooks. The Switch 7 Black Edition features the 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA®GeForce® MX150 graphics and is one-of-a-kind fan-less notebook.
The ultra slim and ultra light Swift 5 focuses on portability while ensuring that factor doesn’t cause a loss in power.
The Spin 5 features 8th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 16 GB of DDR4 memory, up to 13 hours of battery life, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. This creates a dynamic, highly flexible interface, which is great for professionals, as well as gamers alike.
Acer Predator X35 monitor
The Acer Predator X35 curved monitor features NVIDIA® G-SYNC™, Acer HDR Ultra™, and a fast 200 Hz refresh rate. This gaming monitor is 35 inches wide with an aspect ratio of 21:9, sports an immersive 1800R curve and a brilliant (3440 x 1440) WQHD resolution.
Asus Flip Series Gets 8th Gen Intel
Asus ZenBook Flip S, Flip 14 and Flip 15
Asus’ ZenBook Flip laptops come with Intel’s latest 8th generation quad-core processors.
The ultra slim Asus ZenBook Flip S features 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 1TB SSD storage, 13.3-inch screen that folds 360 degrees and boasts 11.5 hours-long battery life.
The 2-in-1 Asus ZenBook Flip 14 also features a 360-degree 14-inch rotating screen, quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia MX150 GPU, 512GB SSD storage and boasts 13 hours-long battery life.
The Asus ZenBook Flip 15 features a 15.6-inch display that comes with a 4K resolution option. It sports 2TB HDD or 512GB SSD, quad-core i7 processor powered by Nvidia GTX 1050.
Asus Windows MR Headset
Asus has also launched a headset that supports Microsoft’s Mixed Reality platform, has a 3K resolution and features a 3D cover panel at the front and weighs less than a pound.
Panasonic Forays into Smart Speakers
SC-GA10 Smart Speaker
Google has announced that the Assitant will soon be making its way to brands other than Google. With this, third-party device makers would be able to bake in ‘Ok Google’ functionality in their devices.
Pushing forward its shift from TVs to smart home products, Panasonic has launched the GA10 smart speaker with built-in Google Assistant.
Samsung Showcases Wearables
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 was unveiled a week back at a press event in New York and now at the IFA 2017, the company showcased its wearable tech offerings.
Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro
These two wearables are designed for fitness enthusiasts as they sport GPS, heart rate tracker, support for offline Spotify playback, and a swim-friendly water resistance design.
Gear Icon X 2018
The Samsung Gear Icon X 2018 wireless headphones come with a 5-hour long battery life that builds up on the flaws of its predecessor, which only had about 1.5-2 hours of battery backup.
Samsung has also added support for its Bixby smart assistant in the headphones which can be accessed via a tap and hold on the earbuds. Each bud also gets 4GB of internal storage too.
Fitbit’s New Offering
Moving from just fitness to a bit more, Fitbit has launched its Ionic smartwatch was unveiled before the Berlin tech event but the company didn’t fail to showcase it at IFA 2017. Fitbit’s new smartwatch comes with aluminum case, GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi support. The device also supports third-party apps.
Dell Upgrades its Laptops
Dell XPS 13, Inspiron 5000 and 7000
These three laptops have now been upgraded to the 8th-generation Intel Kaby Lake R processors. The Inspiron 7000 gets an additional upgrade with the Nvidia GTX 1060 graphic card.
Windows MR Headset
The Dell Visor is another candidate that comes with support for Microsoft’s Windows Mixed Reality.
