Xiaomi Mi 5X September 5 Launch Tipped: Features and Expected Price

Xiaomi unveiled its latest Mi 5X device in China last month in July and according to latest speculations, they might be launching the dual camera device globally on September 5, 2017.

Xiaomi has teased the launch of a ‘Flagship Dual Camera’ device globally on September 5, 2017, and it is being speculated that the said device is a Xiaomi Mi 5X.

The device was launched in July in China, alongside the launch of MIUI 9, Mi AI speakers, and limited edition Mercury Silver Mi 6.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a dual-lens rear camera and runs on the company’s latest operating system, the MIUI 9. The device will come in three colours — Gold, Black and Rose Gold.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X received more than 200,000 pre-orders in China within 24 hours of opening the bookings.

  • Display: The Xiaomi Mi 5X comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved display.
  • Processor: It is powered by 14nm 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset.
  • Memory and Storage: It comes in two variants of 4GB RAM along with 64GB of internal storage.
  • Camera: The Xiaomi Mi 5X sports two 12MP sensors comprising its dual-lens rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
  • Battery and OS: The device is backed by a 3080mAh battery which can be charged via a USB Type-C port.

The device comes in a full metal unibody, with discreet antennas, rounded edges and anti-fingerprint coating. The fingerprint scanner is located on the rear panel of the Mi 5X.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X was released in China at a price of CNY 1,499 and it is expected that the company will release the device in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment in India.
