The Android-based Nokia 6 was first unveiled by HMD Global — who currently own the license to brand and distribute Nokia phones — at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona earlier this year.

Soon after the reveal, the Nokia 6 was launched in the Chinese market where it received an overwhelming response, selling 250k units within the first 24 hours.

The Nokia 6 is retailing at a price of Rs 14,999 exclusively on Amazon India.

Before its sad demise, Nokia was a household name in India and was considered by far the best mobile phone company by the citizenry — owing to its sturdy built and amazing battery life.

Talking at the event, Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Office of HMD said, “We’re not into the Gigahertz or Megapixel race; we’re more of a reliable brand,” and the Indian audience might as well treat this as the homecoming of their favourite mobile brand from yesteryears.

And it sure seems like the crowd in India has taken well to Nokia’s homecoming as the registrations have crossed the million mark.

The unibody Nokia 6 is made of a single block of aluminium 6000 series and hence will be as sturdy a device that the brand name is known to produce.
