Twit­ter Announces First World­wide Video Relay Start­ing This Thursday


On Wednesday, Twitter announced that it will be conducting the world’s first creator-based video relay on its platform. The relay will feature content from over 40 contributors across the globe, including seven content creators from India.

The global relay, named #EveryCharacterMatters, will start on Thursday at 7:30 am (IST). The first video will be relayed from the top of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Content creators from India will join the live video relay on Twitter at around 3 pm on Thursday, August 10.

7 Indian Twitterati Participating in the Relay

The following seven personalities on Twitter will be contributing to the micro-blogging site’s 24-hour-long video relay:

  • Radio Jockey Malishka Mendonsa (@MyMalishka) will explore hidden parts of Mumbai live on Twitter.
  • YouTuber Anisha Dixit (@rickshawali) will share a video of herself being remotely controlled by her fans’ tweets for the entire day.
  • Blogger Nandita Iyer (@SaffronTrail) will poll her fans with #TwitterTadka — a Periscope show where she will ask people to pick a dish via the poll results which she will cook live.
  • Tech expert Ashwin (@c4etech) will broadcast live tech reviews as requested by fans on Twitter.
  • TV journalist Jatin Sapru (@jatinsapru) will broadcast live interviews with some of India’s top women cricketers taking Twitter users on tours inside their homes
  • Lyricist Shirley Setia (@shirleysetia) will share some new lyrics and compose a new song live on Twitter.
  • Singer Akasa Singh (@akasasing) will conduct a live Q&A with her fans on Twitter.
