1GB RAM, Really?

No matter howsoever much low you price the device, it isn’t really justified to launch a device with 1GB of RAM, which is supposedly going to support VR viewing experience.

The stock device has 256MB of available RAM and 4.34GB of available internal storage.

To put things into perspective, the Facebook app on Android uses around 400MB of RAM on an average, WhatsApp uses around 90MB, and Google Chrome uses approximately 200MB.

When asked why 1GB RAM has been used in the Swipe Elite VR, company CEO Shripal Gandhi stated that Indian market needs the best value at the lowest price possible.

Even the 8GB internal storage is unjustified since the user only gets to use around an estimated 5GB. Apps like Facebook tend to consume a lot of storage space to the tune of up to 500MB and more.

There is Another Surprise!

Let alone devices from other companies in the same price range, the company’s very own Swipe Konnect Plus, costs Rs 4,499 on Flipkart and sports 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage.

Gandhi was quick to state that the Swipe Konnect Plus was a 3G-enabled device, whereas the Swipe Elite VR is 4G VoLTE enabled.

Shripal Gandhi also mentioned that the company will be launching a flagship device within the next few months.
