Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has just appeared in a series of live images as well as in a hands-on video. The robust version of the Galaxy S8 is much bulkier than the original one and sports a flat display. The upcoming smartphone will allegedly come with a 4000mAh battery and a military grade shock resistant construction.
Moving on to the specs, the S8 Active would feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD display. However, unlike the standard Galaxy S8, this won’t be a bezel-less infinity display, but a flat panel with nominal bezels. Apparently, it appears a lot like the LG G6.
Coming to the exteriors, the upcoming phone shall boast a military-grade MIL-STD certified construction with IP68 water and dust resistance. This means the Galaxy S8 Active loses the vulnerable glass back of the normal S8.
Internally, the same Snapdragon 835 SoC will sit inside the device. This should be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage. A 12 MP camera shall lie at the back along with an 8 MP Selfie unit.
Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy S8 Active is going to be identical to its standard version. Speaking of the battery, the upcoming phone would pack a 4000mAh cell, which is 1000mAh more than the original Galaxy S8. However, this does come at the expense of thickness; the ‘Active’ version is almost 1.5 times thicker than the normal one.
