Xiaomi Mi 5X and MIUI 9 are all set to launch on Wednesday, July 26,according to a teaser posted by the Chinese company through its official Weibo page. Thanks to some earlier leaks, we already know, that the upcoming smartphone would pack the Snapdragon 625 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. The Mi 5X is also going to be the second handset from Xiaomi to rock a dual camera setup after the Mi 6.
In the latest teaser starring actor Kris Wu, Xiaomi formally shows off the Mi 5X for the first time and announces its release date. Moreover, the company mentioned that the MIUI 9 would also be launched on the same date.
Coming to specifications, the Mi 5X will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) display. On the inside, there would be the octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset running at 2.0 GHz. Memory-wise, the phone might sport 4GB of RAM along with 64 GB of onboard storage.
Looking at the latest poster, it is clear that Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone shall come with a dual camera setup at the back. However, we are unsure about the details of the camera unit. The Mi 5X would also come with a full metal body with subtle antenna lines. The fingerprint scanner is going to be placed at the back of the handset.
As mentioned before, Xiaomi Mi 5X will be officially unveiled on July 26, 2017, along with the MIUI 9. Talking about the pricing, the upcoming handset would cost 1999 Yuan (US$296 or Rs 19,000 INR approx.).
