Want Jio-like unlimited offer on 2G/3G phone? Check Aircel’s new plans

Do you still own a 2G or 3G mobile and are unable to use Reliance Jio? Don’t you worry, Aircel’s latest offer will sound like a dream to you. For Rs 348, the fifth largest telecom operator in India is giving out 84 GB of 2G/3G data along with unlimited calling for 84 days.

Unlike other cellular service providers like Idea, Vodafone or Airtel, Aircel’s offer is fully valid for 2G or 3G handsets.

As you might know, all other mobile operators in India are openly discriminating between 4G and 3G/2G devices. Even Aircel has certain plans that offer benefits based on the same principle. But its newest FRC (First Recharge Coupon) 348 plan will give you the entire package irrespective of your handset.

While launching the latest offer, Rajiv Gupta, Circle Business Head of UP (East), Aircel, stated,

FRC 348 is by far the best value proposition in the market as the offer is open for all customers with all types of handsets be it 2G, 3G or 4G.

Unfortunately, this new plan is currently valid exclusively for the UP (East) zone of Aircel and that too for the new customers only. However, there is a fair amount of possibility that the network provider launches a similar offer all across India.

Don’t be sad already, Aircel is running some exciting offers in every region it operates in. In order to check the one available for you, dial *121# USSD code and press the call button. Then click reply with the relevant choice which says “Special Offer for you”. For me, it’s “1”. After that, you will be told all the offers that you are eligible for.

To give you some examples, in Kolkata and West Bengal circle, there is the Rs. 255 plan offering unlimited local and STD calls along with 1 GB 2G/3G data per day for 28 days. Do note that while Aircel to Aircel calling is truly unlimited, calls to other networks are restricted to 60,000 seconds. Moreover, the 1 GB data is divided as 500 MB for day and 500 MB for night (1 am to 6 am).

On the other hand, at Chennai, there is the Rs. 786 pack which comes with unlimited local and STD calls, 1 GB daily 2G/3G internet and a validity of 70 days. This has fewer constraints though.
