HMD Global is at full throttle to bring back Nokia’s long lost glory. The Finnish company which currently holds onus of the legendary mobile-maker is planning to release four more Android smartphones within the end of this year. Named as the Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9, they are expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon SoCs.
A Chinese tipster has just leaked out the complete list of Nokia smartphones HMD Global has decided to launch this year. Starting with the Nokia 2 and going up till Nokia 9, with the exception of Nokia 4, there is a total of seven devices that had been scheduled for 2017. Out of them, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 have already been released.
Unfortunately, the leak only gives us info about the processors of the upcoming smartphones. However, there are some faint rumors suggesting some other things. Keep reading to know what the upcoming Nokia mobiles can come with.
Nokia 2 Specifications
As its name suggests, this is going to be the cheapest Android smartphone from Nokia. The latest disclosure claims that entry-level device would pack the Snapdragon 212 SoC. However, it is a bit unlikely for HMD Global to use this aged chipset and the Nokia 2 might end up getting a MediaTek chip.
With no further update about the budget handset, it is quite possible that the Nokia has already erased it from their agenda.
Nokia 7 Specifications
This is going to be an upgrade over the existing Nokia 6. According to the leak, the Nokia 7 would feature the brand new Snapdragon 630 SoC. For starters, this is the successor of the Snapdragon 626 or 625 chipsets and comes with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz.
The Nokia 7 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) display with ultra-thin bezels. It is presumed to rock a premium metal body and a Carl Zeiss camera lens.
Nokia 8 Specifications
Expected to be powered by the potent Snapdragon 660 chipset, the Nokia 8 would be a premium midrange device. If you didn’t know, the 660 is Qualcomm’s latest semi-flagship SoC and is capable of giving the Snapdragon 820 a run for its money.
Coming to the display, the Nokia 8 might sport a Quad HD panel with minimum bezels. The phone is presumed to get a metal unibody construction with a redesigned appearance. Rumors indicate that the Nokia 8 might come with a Carl Zeiss-made dual camera.
Finally, we come to Nokia’s long-awaited flagship device – the Nokia 9. This will pack the newest Snapdragon 835 chip along with up to 8 GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display along with a full metal exterior.
The Nokia 9 may feature a 13 MP + 13 MP dual camera sourced from Carl Zeiss. Speculations suggest that this might also be the first IP6x-certified water and dust resistant smartphone from HMD Global.
While there is apparently no reliability of the latest leak, sources familiar to NokiaPowerUser claims that prototypes of Nokia 7, Nokia 8, and Nokia 9 are already being tested out with the above-mentioned specifications. However, they aren’t too sure about the Nokia 2.
