Asus unveiled its Zenfone AR smartphone at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas this year and they’ve finally launched it in India today at an event for a price of Rs 49,999.

The Asus Zenfone AR is Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready, making it the first smartphone — at the time of its global launch — to feature both the techs under one hood.

The Asus Zenfone AR will be exclusively available via Flipkart.

Asus Zenfone VR Specifications

  • Memory and Storage: The Zenfone AR comes with 8GB RAM and options of 64GB and 128GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card to up to 2TB.
  • Processor: The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, the same processor that also powers Google Pixel and OnePlus 3T devices. The chipset on the Zenfone AR has been optimised for Tango.
  • Display and Design: The device sports a 5.7-inch WQHD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display, 79% screen-to-body ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, Bluelight Filter for eye care, fingerprint and smudge-resistant oleophobic coating. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the home button of the device, located on the front panel.
  • Camera: The primary camera of the device is a 23MP unit with Sony IMX 318 sensor, dual-LED flash and zero shutter lag. The front camera is an 8MP unit with screen flash.
  • Battery: The Asus Zenfone AR is backed by a 3,300mAh battery pack with BoostMaster Fast Charging (60% battery charge in 39 minutes) and Quick Charge 3.0 tech.
  • OS: The device runs on ZenUI 3.0 on top of Android Nougat 7.0.

Apart from the high-end hardware specs, the Asus Zenfone AR has also been loaded with tech that makes use of the available hardware to the fullest especially when it comes to AR and VR tech.

  • TriCam Tech: The rear camera of the device gets a TriCam system with three lenses. The first is a 23MP rear camera, second is a motion tracking camera and third is a depth sensing camera. The TriCam tech comes in handy whenever users wish to use the AR feature of the device.
  • Enhanced Audio: HiRes Audio, DTS Headphone X 7.1 virtual surround, NXP SmartAMP and 5 Magnet Speakers on the Zenfone AR will enhance your AR and VR experience.
  • Super Resolution mode: The Zenfone AR has a super resolution camera mode which allows users to create ultra-high resolution image at 92MP. This is achieved by combining four native 23MP photos and create a single image.
