Facebook has taken a significant step forward, ushering their Spaces app as well as their social media platform into the new era of virtual reality videos by giving the ability to Facebook Spaces users to live stream their VR world experience onto the Facebook timeline.
Facebook Live videos have gained considerable popularity since its global launch and coupling it with Spaces VR — another popular tech interface in the present — seems like a valid step since they’re also trying to increase the sales of its Oculus Rift VR headsets.
Users on Facebook Spaces app will soon receive Facebook Live functionality and will be able to stream their virtual reality experience with their friends and a wider audience on the 2-billion strong social media platform.
“By going live from Facebook Spaces, you can share a whole new kind of moment with friends and family directly from VR. Whether you’re touring exotic locations across the globe in 360, collaborating on a virtual marker masterpiece, or riffing on a viral video, the people who matter most to you can now follow along in real time on Facebook,” the company stated.
The Facebook live interface on Facebook Spaces will provide users with a virtual camera that can be positioned anywhere in their space to capture what’s going on.
Your friends on Facebook will be able to comment on these Live videos and ask you questions in real time which will be displayed as a stream in your Space.
“Live from Facebook Spaces opens up the fun of VR and lets everyone join the experience. Along with Messenger video calling and selfies, it’s an easy way to share your VR experiences and create lasting memories with everyone you care about,” Facebook added.
