Samsung will probably announce the Galaxy Note 8 on 23rd August at an event in New York. According to a report by The Bell, the early release of the Note 7 successor is mainly due to the impending iPhone launch. The Note 8 was originally planned to go official at the IFA 2017, which is set to be held on the first week of September.
The South Korean technology giant expects to sell 9 million units of the Galaxy Note 8 within the first three months of its launch. The company will start manufacturing the upcoming flagship from next month itself with a targeted production volume of 3 million handsets per month.
Speaking of the specifications, the successor of the Galaxy Note 7 is presumed to sport a 6.32-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel. Similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+, this will also be an Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the Note 8 will probably feature Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC. These also power up the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and are the present market leaders among smartphone chipsets. However, some unverified rumors claim that Samsung may opt for a newer chip for its forthcoming phablet.
Besides the top of the line SoCs, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to rock 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with up to 256 GB of UFS 2.0 storage.
Moving on to the optics, the upcoming flagship is going to be the first Samsung smartphone to boast a dual camera setup. Analysts suggest that the Note 8 would come with a dual 13 MP+13 MP rear shooter loaded with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and optical zoom.
According to Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the dual camera module of the Note 8 might support 3X optical zoom, enhanced HDR, and perspective view.
Connectivity-wise, the Note 7 successor would feature 1 Gbps 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm headphone jack, etc. The phone might still come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Samsung is expected to bring some significant additions to the S Pen of the Galaxy Note 8.
