Motorola is in its full swing this year as the Lenovo-owned company has already launched around six smartphones and is planning to release at least four more by the end of 2017 — the Moto G5S Plus is one of them.
A new report by VentureBeat has leaked all the details of the ‘Special Edition’ Moto G5 Plus. Motorola is expected to announce the upcoming phone alongside Moto G5S and Moto Z2 Force on July 25.
According to an official marketing document obtained by VentureBeat, the Moto G5S Plus is going to be a more premium variant of the present Moto G5 Plus.
The new handset will boast a full metal construction with subtle antenna lines. It might feature a larger 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) display. This is certainly a much-needed improvement over the 5.2-inch Moto G5 Plus.
Coming to the internals, Motorola’s upcoming smartphone will reportedly pack the same Snapdragon 625 SoC of its predecessors. The midrange SoC has eight Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.0 GHz. This is paired with the Adreno 506 GPU.
Just like the processor, the Moto G5S Plus shall also have a similar memory arrangement of its precursor. The entry level variant would come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, while the top model will rock a 4 GB/64 GB setup.
It is the camera of the Moto G5S Plus that has received a massive overhaul. This time, Motorola opted for a dual camera setup. The rear camera of the upcoming smartphone would consist of two 13 MP sensors; one being a normal unit and the other a monochrome (black and white) lens. This is quite similar to what Huawei uses in its flagship dual camera devices.
In addition to the rear camera upgrade, the Moto G5S Plus will also take better selfies. The 5 MP front shooter of the Moto G5 Plus will reportedly be replaced by a superior 8 MP unit.
Other remaining things like connectivity, battery capacity and software should remain the same.
