Reliance Jio has been disrupting the internet industry in India since its launch in the telecom sector last year and more recently it has been trying to spread it reach even more with the JioFi device which can act as a WiFi router to connect multiple devices at 4G speed.
Reliance Jio has unveiled exclusive data offers for any new customers who buy their JioFi device alongwith a Jio sim card.
The JioFi device retails at a price of Rs 1,999 on the Jio.com website and to avail 4G internet via the device, a customer will have to buy a Jio sim and recharge it with Rs 99 worth of Jio Prime membership.
Users will have to recharge with any one of these following tariff plans, in addition to paying for the JioFi device and Prime membership.
Customers who recharge with Rs 149 will receive 2GB of data per month for 12 months. This roughly translates to 24GB data for Rs 149.
Customers who recharge with Rs 309 will receive 1GB of data per day for six months. This roughly translates to 168GB of data for Rs 309.
Customers who recharge with Rs 509 will receive 2GB of data per day for four months. This roughly translates to 224GB of data for Rs 509.
Customers who recharge with Rs 999 will receive 60GB of data for four months.
One billing cycle equals 28 days. All you need to do is buy the JioFi device for Rs 1,999, buy a SIM and activate it with Rs 99 worth Prime membership and then recharge with one of the tariffs that is suitable to your needs.
Reliance Jio’s extended free offer is due to end this month for all of its customers, after which they’ll have to recharge on a monthly basis.
While JioFi cannot be considered an alternative to your existing Jio service on the mobile phone due to the extra cost of the device and other sim and the fact that you can’t roam around with the JioFi device everywhere, it might still be useful if you’re looking for an alternative to your home WiFi.
